Peter Roberts CBE, former Leeds City College Principal
Published 11 January 2016
It is with deep sadness that we report the death of Peter Roberts CBE, who retired as Principal of Leeds City College in September last year.
Following his retirement, Peter continued to lend his many years of leadership experience to the college and colleagues. A much loved, admired and respected friend, colleague, and mentor for many, his love for Leeds City College and the City of Leeds and his championing of all things FE was surpassed only by his love for his family and his beloved Liverpool Football Club.
Funny, lightening quick, intellectually adept and astute and with an incredible touch with people, his passing has left an immeasurable emptiness amongst those of us that knew him that will be difficult to fill.
“Peter was a stalwart supporter of further education who will be very much missed,” said Louise Tearle, Partnership Director for Leeds City Region Skills Network and West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges (WYCC).
