Published 25 June 2013

Over 100 delegates gathered at Victoria Hall, Saltaire yesterday for the launch of key economic intelligence including Labour Market Analysis and the city region's Skills Plan.

Representatives from across the education and training sector were in attendance at the Working together with the Local Enterprise Partnership event which was chaired by Prof. Mike Campbell OBE alongside guest speakers Neil McLean, LEP Chair; Felix Kumi-Ampofo, and Ekosgen's Tim Allan.

skills needs changing rapidly

Addressing delegates during his 'Think Global, Act Local' presentation, Prof. Campbell said "The skills we need for the jobs of today and tomorrow are changing rapidly. It is critical that we work closely with employers to drive skills demand to address this."

The conference was the second annual event hosted by the Skills Network and built on the success of last year's 'What do employers want?' seminar.
